2020 TC Energy CEO Safety Leadership Award – Contractor
Canada Gas Projects, Coastal Gas Link
Nominated by the Coastal Gas Group
TC Energy relies on trusted partners to complete many of our construction projects, and when we needed pipe first delivered to our stockpile sites and then strung out along the corridor for one of our most ambitious endeavors to date, we turned to one of the best in the business. The sheer scope of this work is astounding. For Coastal Gas Link, Premay hauled pipe over 5.5 million km (3.4 million miles.) through mountainous terrain and in winter without incident.
Using proactive procedures such as analyzing travel routes, fatigue management, and stationing medics in areas of poor cell coverage, Premay was dedicated to preventing incidents.
TC Energy commended Premay, ‘This award is one small token of our gratitude to such a valued business partner.
Don’t take it from us…
Want to thank (the) Premay team for their support to kickstart the 1st ever pipe project with SWP by providing operator & key guidance; All in all, it was a great execution and a winning team!!
Wanted to comment that Unit 298 traveling up on the 200 yesterday before noon was driving courteously, cautiously, and calling correctly. Pullouts are tight around that area, the driver was not rushing pullouts and was polite when on the radio as well. CGL appreciates his work today.
Premay has transported more than 3500 loads from Stewart (World Port) and they have exhibited a very high level of professionalism throughout the project. It was great working together to get this done. The crews worked tirelessly through all sorts of weather conditions to move this pipe. Without all of them working together nothing could have happened.
I was talking to one of the RCMP fellows, his comment was they are very impressed with Premay drivers both on the road and in Stewart, they have had zero problems.
From following their own health and safety management system to implementing advanced collision-avoidance technology on their equipment, Premay has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to keeping their workers, stakeholders, and communities along the right-of-way safe.
